Offline | Stainless Steel Vents Has anyone successfully fitted the stainless steel vents offered by MiniSpares/MiniMania to the front and rear bumpers of an MCS? Contemplating adding to mine but not yet convinced they will enhance the design - does anyone have photos of these fitted (particulary to a Black MCS) to aid my decision? Cheers - Looking forward to the feedback. |

Offline | Oh well, seeing as there was little response to this post I guess that nobody has tried this yet - so perhaps I'll be the first to fit them then. If anyone is interested on the outcome then let me know I'd be more than happy to outline the work involved. It could be worse - it could be Monday |

Offline | I fitternd them to my IB/B S earlier this year. Piece of cake to fit; pop them out from under the bonnet in front of the bulkhead. Try using some good contact adhesive and a pair of clamps to ensure they bond properly, the silicone adhesive that came with mine was less than useless. Good luck!!!!!!!! Hyper Blue/Black Cooper. Side skirts/Aero grill, Milltek, chrome bitz and a scary roof graphic. A SKATEBOARD IS FOR LIFE NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS |

Offline | Many thanks for your reply - what I actually meant was the lower vents/grilles fitted in the front and rear bumpers of an MCS, not the pollen vents which I take as being the topic in your reply to my original post - though a big thank you for responding. I ordered the parts anyway which arrived this morning and will be fitted over the weekend. Hopefully I'll like them and satisfy my design plans. Will add photos shortly to my gallery when complete. It could be worse - it could be Monday |

Offline | Will do - I've actually managed to fit them on this evening and a bit of a doddle really once you've got the bumpers off. Took about an hour for both front and rear, though I'm wearing a few plasters now! Decided to paint the exhaust shield matt black as it was showing through the rear vents and looked a little odd with the sheilds shiny silver surface showing through - much better now. When I've borrowed the digital camera off work, I'll post the photos hopefully this weekend - better clean it too while I'm at it! It could be worse - it could be Monday |

Offline | Finally obtained some photos of the fitted items - apologies for the delay. Fitting as I mentioned in a previous post is pretty easy but does involve removing the bumpers. It could be worse - it could be Monday |

Offline | Dabe - Haven't spotted any for the aero kit. However I was originally contemplating using aluminium mesh which could I guess easily be used on the aero kit but I didn't like the finish or look. I also believe the rear bumper on the aero kit does not have 'holes' for the stainless steel vents and are stickers instead - cutting it out is an option I guess but probably fiddly to get a good finish. Offline | Did notice these - they also sell sheets of mesh to allow cutting to any profile, but, they are made from aluminium mesh not the more robust stainless steel which was my preference. However, as you mentioned they will fit the aero kit front bumper. It could be worse - it could be Monday |

Offline | That looks good. I've been looking for something like that but the only thing I'd seen up to now has been the kind of "billet alumin(i)um" grille kits that are on ebay that are just cheezy photoshop jobs and look like a complete rip off. I'd considered the expanded metal mesh route but wanted something more custom made. Any chance you could send me a higher res copy of those pictures..?? |
