Offline | Hi everyone. I love our MINI installed roof rack, but the whistling is almost unbearable. Does anyone know of a fairing strip we can buy that will fit it? Or are there any other solutions people have come up with? Thanks! -Tracy Tracy & Mia |

Offline | hi there, saw your MINI at the Bucks County meet and wanted to ask you then how you're faring with the roof racks. The install looked pretty solid, but I guess there is quite a bit of wind noise with it. I have Thules on a different car, and at highway speeds there is a slight noticeable whistling, but it's not annoying. I've just been too lazy to take them off when not skiing. Just wondering, is it difficult to take off the racks from the MINI? |

Offline | Fairing is possible!!! Hi there, I got the mini S with the factory rack attached and found there to be quite a bit of wind noise, especially with my luggage rack attachment. I bought the Thule fairing and attached it with some bolts with washers and thread lock bolts. Check out my pics for how I did it. I will give you more instructions if needed. It definitely helps with the noise and I personally thinik it looks quite good. Sincerely, Kevin 2002 MCS Silver w/roof rack for kayak. Girlfriend in passenger seat, and Beagle in back. |

Offline | 2grrls, I have had the MINI rack since I picked up the car last October. The only time mine makes any noise is when I don't have anything on the rack; ie bicycle carriers or cargo box. Do you have the black plastic trim strips installed in the top groove? I have hear from others that with the trim strips installed and no other devices on the rack that it will whistle. I do not ever use the trim strips. Whenever the cross bars are on the car I always try to install either the bicycle carriers or the cargo box. With that set-up the rack is very quiet at any speed upto 75-80 mph. Even with two bicycles on the rack you can hardly tell they are there. I had to do some adjusting to the bolts of the bicycle carriers so that they wouldn't creak when on bumpy roads. Check out my gallery. Where did you get that stripe? I have been trying to find one like that. Good luck. Motor on, Dudes and Dudettes!!! '06 MCS SB/S '02 MCS DS/W (retired) |

Offline | Hi there. Could you possibly send me the more detailed instructions on installing the fairing? Also, does it work with sunroofs? Thank you in advance...m-cjunk@embarqmail.com |
