Offline | Just got one for my Cooper, looks good. BUT... The main aerial part is just bare silver metal, the top and bottom are black. So, I was wondering if I could put some black permanent marker on it to make it black? Or is that a stupid idea? Would my radio reception suffer? ![]() |

| Trained Monkey | I'd spray it up with smooth hammerite black, a few coats slowly and carefully done should look excellent. Besides, they give you a spare metal bit if it does go a bit Pete Tong. ![]() I've just left mine silver, thought it looked pretty good that way. Offline | Paul: cool, cheers. It's just the metal bit looks "dirty" and isn't shiney, so I think it would look better black. Where on earth do you get smooth hammerite from? Not much of a DIY person! ![]() PS. I assume it won't affect radio reception?? |

| Trained Monkey | Reception should be OK, but then you've got a spare if not! Hammerite spray, most car or DIY places will do it, get the smooth stuff (was once called smoothrite, but I think they changed it to hammerite smooth).
