Offline | Hi everyone, Can someone help me, i recently won a pair of chrome side vents, look really nice in the box, and even nicer on the car until i nudged one and it fell out. They were really loose, the clip at one end seemed to hold ok, but the pin at the other does'nt seem to get any grip in the socket that it gets shoved in to, so i've had to put the black vents back on. Is this a job for the dealer to fit them or is there some other way of making the vents fit more securely without resorting to glueing them in, i have thought of glueing them but the other half made me think otherwise. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers pubert |

Offline | i tried to push them in hard but its as though the front pin just isnt long enough to snap into the socket, it looks as though the front of the vent does'nt sit to well in the recess either, i've made sure the pin is lined up with the socket its supposed to go in, it must just be a bad casting. think i'll see if i can get them replaced. cheers anyway for the advice. cheers pubert |

Offline | Just a thought, and you may have tried this, but I had the same problem. I got them to fit OK by opening the bonnet and placing my hand inside the top of the wing and pushing the tab that holds the securing grommet out whilst pushing the chrome vent in. You may have to bend the tab out slightly as it may have bent in when trying to push it in before! Be carefull though as the tab is only thin steel and it bends quite easily! I think thats why it didn't fit because it is a tight fit and it just bent the tab when trying to push from the front only! Mine located with a good "snap" so I'm dreading trying to get them off again!! ![]() |
