I ordered my mini this past weekend, it is due to arrive in the
spring. I love the Italian Job color combos and so I got an Indi
Blue with White roof and plans to either paint or replace my white
mirror caps with black.

1) Any suggestions on a product and process to paint my white mirror
caps?

2) Any other suggestions as to how to get black mirror caps (my
dealer quoted me over $300, a tad bit too much for my wallet)?

just the mirror caps? have a look in the for sale forum or eBay many sell theirs after fitting chrome ones ... be aware part of the mirror will still be white though

Salvage Yard. There's lots of MINIs that should be sitting in them, and some are bound to have black roofs, just make sure its a black roof, not a black car with a body matching roof.

And there's no way they'll cost $300, and you don't care about the color matching perfectly, because there's nothing else black on your car. Just may be few phonecalls to find a yard that has them, especially since one may have been squished when the car got totalled so you might need 2 MINIs.

I'm not sure of course what yards have MINIs, maybe searching for that could help. If you do find out, I'm sure others would like to know. Maybe one of the yards here: http://www.rcsr.com/default.htm (The BMW one?)

GMINI03, what part of the mirror would still be white? I swapped and the entire mirror housing is balck. I got my black ones from someone who fitted chrome. I found him on the Roadfly forums.
