Blue Cooper 'S' Fuel Cap Factory Fit

Hi

Does anybody know if it is possible to get the 'S' Fuel Cap as a Factory fit when you order your Cooper?

Apologies if this has been covered in a previous thread, I have looked but they all seem to be about fitting them at a later date (which I'm a bit nervous about doing to be honest - I admit I'm a wuss ok)

Cheers

Someone probably got confused by the 'S' sideskirts, I've seen some strange combinations coming down the line before now!

No it was one already on order for dealer use ( was going to be the BMW bike sales winter transport) had to wait just 3 weeks for it to arrive.

Ordered my new cooper with S fuel cap, no problems but not factory fitted though, it will be fitted by dealer. (for free haha, I love my dealer.)
It appeared to me that more people ordered it before.

Just my 2 c..

These BMW/MINI policies are a joke IMO. They'll take your £12-14k for a ONE or a Cooper and then say I'm sorry sir but you are not allowed to purchase a different type of fuel cap.

Also, how come all these after market companies can supply an S fuel cap kit?

They're probably buying direct from the manufacturer to MINI, or they're getting hold of them in a country with less strict rules on supply without chassis number. Oh, or they're dealing with a bent dealership!

Are there really rules on which fuel cap on which type of MINI?? That sounds a bit strict.. I've also read about people with MINI One's with S scoop bonnets..

so i take it you would be quite happy to go and spend £18k on a Cooper S, and yet someone could spend £11k and add a few bits to make it look like your expensive S?? you wouldnt feel cheated in anyway?

the policy is there for reason....

bit like on M cars.....you spend £50k on an M3, and yet a lad/lady down the road dresses his/her 316 up to look like an M3.....you aint gonna be happy are you!

im not saying people shouldnt mod they're cars, or add S bits to there ONE's/Coopers...ive got some of the stuff myself.....just trying to defend MINI/BMW policy/Brand values!

To be honest, if I owned a Cooper S (which I do), or an M car, then it wouldn't bother me at all if someone else had bits on their car to make it look like mine. It's the knowing what you've got that gives satisfaction, not others knowing what you've got.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest Minty.

What's that phrase? Imitation is the best form a flattery or something?

I did not get the S-cap to make my Cooper look like an S, I just really really really like that fuel cap.. A girl's got to have the shiny stuff.!
Besides, no need to feel cheated if someone dresses up their less expensive car, it won't change what's under hood right? And you know what you've got...
