Yellow Cooper Tar Spots - recommendations ?

My wife has a LY/W Cooper CVT which is FAB ! But I notice when cleaning it there are quite a few tar spots on the rear of it (short overhang is the cause I guess).

I've tried the Auto-Glym tar remover, but doesnt seem to work brilliantly, even if left on for 1-2 minutes as recommended.

Any suggestions/recommendations on removing tar-spots without resorting to sandpaper ?!

Thanks.

R.

For our American friends, the sandpaper thing was a joke, really !

Just an idea, but try Wiping the Stains with some Neat Petrol ( GAS ) on a Rag.

If you have a product called WD-40, try that. It works the best for me.

Buy a product called bug and tar remover at the auto parts store. It works wonders and won't damage the paint.

Another cheap but effective product is plain old alcohol. Good for tree sap and tar. You should spot wax when done though. This goes for anything you use really.

i use meguiars clear coat body scrub, followed by a coat of wax.

I would avoid using anything likely to have any form of fuel/solvent etc as it will strip off any wax and could discolour plastics etc.

in using the CCBS on the whole car you get rid of all blemishes, tar, sap and light swirls too - following a good coat of wax your MINI will look the biz.
