color coding wheel arches and front lower spoiler

I'm thinking to color code the wheel arches..the front and rear lower spoiler..also the sideskirts...
I was quoted $2000 by a panel beater in South Melbourne...
do you guys have any suggestion where I can get it done...with a lower price than $2000 of course..
btw I'm located in Melbourne...
Thanx guys

my suggestion is get another quote!

up here you can get an awesome job done for a bit over $1000

i got quoted 1100 to get it done, and these guys in sydney do a great job, brad (cityclinic) got his car done there. dont know if your've seen pictures of it, but they did a great job

sounds like fun though! what colour is your car?

Thanx bkwalker
the quote is a bit ridiculous I suppose..
he just had a look at my car then he estimated I have to spend at least $2000...so I assume it could be more..
yeah...I'll find another quote after the exam
My Cooper is black in colour..

Dammm thats a huge quote.. i had the local BMW Approved pannel beater quote me just over $550 for that.
Mind you Black is a very hard colour to match... so it could be due to that. Mine being electric blue means its a bit easier.

Good Luck would love to see the pics after its done.. should look hot!

yeah black looks awesome.. ive seen somewhere on this site a colour coded black MCS.. looks good

the hardest bit in colourcoding is smoothing out the plastic, currently there are little bumps all over it.. they get rid off them

yeah that's the hardest bit...
but..are they noticable? coz if they aren't, then I don't really mind..my bro has a VW Golf...he color coded all the mouldings all around...and you can hardly see the bumps..well unless you look really closely..oh yeah btw his car is silver in colour
He paid $500 to get them done
I might want to get the quote from where he did it...

G'day,

I am pretty sure there is an approved BMW panel shop in blackburn, maybe they can do it a bit cheaper.

Also, I have heard that there is a way on sanding back that will remove the bumps?

Michael Stow, Stow Smash at Artarmon did the City Clinic MCS. The trims have to be filled and sanded prior painting. Use the pearl paint method for best results. It'll cost you around $1100 - $1200 for a top job. CC MCS (soon to be JCWMCS) is having a brand new livery to match the works kit including removing all the CC vinyl and redoing all the trims in body colour next month. I would only ever let Stows do this type of work. We are hoping it will be ready for our drive up to Mt Tomah on Nov 30.

Wheels & Seats soon to be available in Aus (after ADR's) and going on JCWMCS.

They have to be filled first and then sanded. The actual process has a name which I can ask Michael Stow about on Monday if it will help you with a local panel beater. However they should know the process. $2000.00 is way over what it should be to complete the job and get a good result. Talk to the guys at Car Shine in North Melbourne. They use to organise a lot of this sought of stuff for BMW and Benz owners.

Sounds like you are going to town on the car Will be interested to see what the seats and wheels look like, personally I think I will save my pesos for the rumored additional JCW tuning options next year More power, tweaked suspension and upgraded brakes all with warranty would be fantastic

This is what we are ordering:

200BHP Conversion: JCW553
Bonnet Catches: JCW114
Bilstein Shocks: JCW525
Air Filter: JCW9
Strut Brace: JCW177
Braided Brake Hoses: JCW170
Brake Ducting: JCW180
Ugraded Brake System: JCW?
JCW 18" Alloy Wheels
JCW Sports Seats
Front and Rear Aero Spoilers (supply only) - we have the sides.

Apart from the conversion and spoilers I doubt the rest of the stuff will be ready by Nov 30. The seats and wheels still have to go through ADR approval and the other stuff is on special order. However it will be ready for the Tassy trip which will suit me fine. As for prices .. still negotiating however one thing is sure .. it's going to be expensive.
