United-Kingdom rear white lights.......are they easy to fit?

I was wanting to order some white rear lights when i put my order in for my MCS last week, but was told BMW are no longer selling these as an option due to the legality of them.
I was going to get some elsewhere.
Are they easy enough to fit and where is the cheapest place to get them?

Piece of cake, but get rear reflectors , or mud flaps with reflectors otherwise you could get pulled! Gently remove rear interior 1/4 panel trim, fixings are clearly visible, just remove and replace. Make sure you get the 'seals' with the lamps.
I think that new style rear clear lamps will become avail from BMW/MINI in the near future but with the reflector issue solved as part of the package.

Or alternatively go for the red lamps with white indicators as on my car. Depends on how much white you want though.

I've found a company still selling the clear light units... www.plmini.com. You can buy them online.

The white lights can be a little tricky if you have the HK Sound System as the amp is is the rear driver side "cubby hole" where you unscrew the bolts on the lamps. It took me about3 mins to do both considering I have the amp in the way but I have done it once before! You need to give it a bit of elbow grease and they will clip into place!

Easy with a bit of push & shove to clip 'em in.....you'll need a 10mm spanner.
