spot lamp kit...

i'm interested in this one (4 lamps)
but i'm a bit scared about parking my car in the street (i live in a big city... where nobody cares about others cars while parking)
will it exceed from the front bumper? if so... how many cm/inches?

ps: also 2 lamps kit feedbacks are accepted!!

the standard 2 lamps don't stand proud of the bumper they sit (just) behind the leading edge. i've seen that 4 lamp kit in the metal & they are mounted on a bar & i'm not sure if this arrangement pushes the lamps out further so that they do stand proud. i'll bet its close though

If you have a lot of trucks or SUV's in your area it won't make a difference. The MINI sits low enough that most of these vehicle's bumpers will go right over the front bumper on the MINI.

no trucks and a little bunch of suv's (x5/Mclass. that's it) , but a friend of mine made me think to the "legal stuff".
Are they approved for public road use in your countries??

Here in the US, each state has it's own laws covering these lights. Generally, if you only use them with your hi-beams and limit your bulb wattage to 55w, you're pretty safe to use them in the majority of states.

I do think there are some states that don't allow them, and some that restrict the number you can have burning at one time. Driving lights and window tint are probably the most confusing things to work with on your car as far as legalities go.

Are these lamps fitted on securely? I like the look of them but they seem a bit flimsy!

Also, how do you switch them on? Are they connected to the standard front fog lights or do you have a separate switch for them?

Factory/Dealer OEM lamps are extra toggle switch if theres room, supplimentary switch brackets are available.
The lights are designed to break away under any serious impact to avoid damage to things like children who might get in the way. A more rigid fix could result in serious damage, which in a society that sues everything would be quite nasty.

15,000 miles & they havent fallen off yet!

the factory fit ones are on the same circuit as the high beam headlights & operated the same way, ie a pull on the steering column stalk turns on the high beam & the spots. they dont tend to get a great deal of use but they do look nice & if you swap all the standard bulbs for after market high intensity ones its like driving with your own personal floodlights with them on
