Offline | I can't believe that no one like this! I love this look. THe classic Mini looks brit, the new MINI is nice, and I like the look, but I WOULD LOVE THIS! Finally I could have a "funky" car without the "funky" issues! No I wouldn't want to add 50lbs, I woudl want to strip off the current bonnet and put this one over it. JMHO, this kicks the $hit out of all the rice conversions that people seem to love on these sites. |

Offline | i think it looks really crap. Its gonna completely screw up all your aerodynamics, increase fuel consumption and ultimately make you a laughing stock for all the classic owners who think they know everything. I love the classic mini, but i dont think its right turning your new MINI into a classic. ya know? :P |

Offline | I'd like to see this addon in person before making any calls on it. I don't know if it would be a good match with the bigger body of the MINI, but, it is an interesting concept. If it's fiberglass or ABS it'll potentially be lighter than what's on the car now. Granted, as pointed out, it's not as aerodynamic, but that's not the point of the exercise. As for opening it up, the early Mini's had a replacement fiberglass front end available that was hinged in front and tilted forward. This would probably use the same system. Lastly, the classic owners who would laugh at you for this, are probably already laughting at you for owning a MINI anyway, so what's the difference? ![]() -- '03 S B/W |

Offline | it would give em more fuel. But yeh, ![]() ![]() ![]() em anyway i suppose. ah well, you have a good point though, might look better in the metal but do you think anyone would go and get that done to their car? Also, whats it going to do to both your insurance and car warranty. Just imaging how sore those crumple zones would be. lol. |

| DRIVER | real or not its a fun idea which could actually be done if someone with the free time and skills in forming fiberglass. There are kits similar to this for many other cars. The Miata has a kit available to make it look like a bug-eyed sprite. I've seen Chevy trucks with retro front ends. People have put Lincoln Navigator front ends on Ford pick-ups... |

![]() 6X therapist | Its not a joke, it really exists, and I've seen one, but only one mind you. I was sort of hoping that it would never ever see the light of day. The one I saw was a demonstrator, the whole lot lifts up if you need to get under the bonnet/hood, lighting connects into the original loom, its been well executed, and so should anyone who buys it ![]() |
