Offline | exterior chrome moulding Hi Mini2ers I checked the exterior forum and browsed the FAQ..but couldnt find anything on this. I have been bothered by the exterior chrome moulding at the bottom of the side windows. Noticed a MCS down the block that had black trim..which I would like a lot better. Funny I dont remember ordering anything with chrome..any way I can swap this moulding? Maybe make a trade with someone who wants chrome or order the parts from Mini? Anyone ever tried this before and have any input? Possibly somebody has gone the other route and swapped black for chrome. Thanks in advance. KDOG |

Offline | If you mean the chrome "waist band" as it were, then that's always chrome from MINI. The car you've seen must have been modified. Maybe one of the aftermarket companies provides them, or it could have been a DIY job? |

Offline | I dont recall ever seeing that moulding in black before..so it is quite possible that it had been painted. It was dark outside and I didnt get to talk to the owner to ask them about it. As i washed my car today I took a close look at the moulding. I dosnt look easy the change..so I may have to live with it or take it to the body shop to see what they think. Thanks for the input. |

Offline | I've read the Sports Compact Car write up of the MCS project car. It is very nice. They painted all the chrome black without any sanding or primer. It looks great. for anyone that is inetested: I still havt found anything about aftermarket trim..so I nay just have it painted. Thanks for your help guys. KDOG |
