United-Kingdom Which driving lamps?

I want to improve my visibility, as the stock without xenons is pretty pants, and am going to put 4 driving lamps on the front of my mini. Wondered what people thought of the bmw ones with regards to visibilty improvements. I've been looking at the PIAA lamps as well and can't decide between the two, has anyone experienced a similar quandry? if so which did you go for?
Cheers everyone, and i hope you all had an awesome christmas

It's going to boil down to personal taste, but the MINI ones are junk -- made by Jute and are purely cosmetic. I consider PIAA junk too (they do have some good ones, but are horribly overpriced). If you're looking for function over form, then look to Cibie or Bosch. Marchal's are my favorite, but it's getting really hard to find a set in good nick at a decent price.

I'll go along with Curt. The OEM ones, I have them on my car, aren't very good. Mainly they have no range.
I've adjusted mine up and down but they just don't have much reach.
I recently sold a truck that had Marchals on it. Much better and they were 15 years old. Sat in a box for a decade before I put them on.

Mandi.....Put your money into something worthwhile.....unless you're just going for the look. For what they charge for a set of the MINI lights you can buy some pretty decent lights that actually do what they're supposed to do.

I've got some decent cibies that I've "aquired" , but as yet no suitable mounting brackets . Are these available to buy from BMW seperately and if so - anyone got the part numbers ?
Cheers

I got a pair from 4wheelparts.com They are the Explorer Pro Comp 55. About 5" in diameter and are also not very deep. They where about $70 with the wiring harness. Going to install them this weekend, only problem will be fabricating up a mounting bracket. I will post pics of them as soon as I get them.

You can buy the OEM brackets by themselves from your dealer (about $40). Be forewarned though, if you're using anything much larger than the stock lights, there'll probably be a vibration problem. Look for a set of heavier brackets (someone offers them), or reinforce the OEM ones. The OEM stabilizers don't work well with larger lamps.
