Offline | Did you get your new Mini w/ Racing Stripes? Just curious. Mine is currently still in the "birthing canal" in Manchester. I asked my dealer to install racing stripes when it arrives but now I am having second thoughts. Maybe just a bit "busy?" I am wondering what the consensus here is on stripes. Mine will be Brit Racing Green w/ black top (I don't know, I just kind of liked the black with the green better than the white. 'Wife did too.). Thanks and happy motoring. |

| Trained Monkey | I like them, but don't have them! It's easier (and cheaper) to add them later than it is to peel them off, so maybe leave them off, and see how it fares? You might even then go for something different from the likes of www.cooperflags.com or www.idlegear.co.uk ? ![]() Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Offline | I just got my CR/W MCS (one week ago today!) with the chequered roof and no bonnet stripes and it looks awesome!! Check out my personal gallery for pics. On BRG/B though, I think you're better off following Paul's advice and seeing how you go. Dark bonnet stripes would be the best option if any I reckon... |

| MINI2 Newbie | I agree with Paul. I'm expecting my mini in March and I'm also thinking about adding stripes. I've had a look at buying them and fitting them myself and it'll work out a lot cheaper (£35 for viper stripes) compared to £250 that BMW want to charge me!!! |

| ITS RAINNIN' SIDEWAYS | i like stripes & have them on my CR/W Cooper, i'm not sure how black stripes would look on BRG though - thats a very dark green to start with & i'm not sure how well they'd actually stand out. Black stripes are much more traditional than white ones though as they're supposed to mimic the leather straps holding the bonnet down on the original rally Coopers ![]() |

Offline | i think the bonnet stripes add that little extra to the car. Going a little deeper adding the John Cooper signature decals adds more to the stripes , therefore adding to the whole look of the car. Well i think anyway! ![]() |

| Hulk. | I wouldn't go for the factory stripes personally. www.cooperflags.com as stated earlier is awsome. My car is all BRG and i'm getting the fat black stripe for the center, with the 2 black stripes on the sides of it. I think it will look awsome as i have all green and this should put a little accent on the car. Hope i didnt make your decision any harder. ![]() -Scott Edit: Heres a pic for ya, its a pretty quick PS, hopefully you get the idea. ![]() Last edited by flatsix02 : Jan 2nd, 2004 at 03:25 AM. |

| SCMM.org member | I had orginally ordered stripes on my BRG/Wht MCS. Then I changed my mind... I am having the stripes painted.. 2 Wht stripes starting at the bottom of the spoiler, up the grill and all the way to the front windscreen. the stripes will change to BRG for the small distance from the windscreen to the start of the sun roof... I am planning on getting perfed vinyl white stripes for the sun roof itself.. back to brg for the rest of the white roof and the spoiler. and then white again to the exhaust pipes.. i think that will be very distinctive. 11/03 BRG/Wht MCS |

Offline | A warning about the magnetic striping. There have been mentions of these not holding up well to high speed travel. I know of two people who've lost stripes going down the road. ![]() -- '03 S B/W |

| MINI2 Newbie | I have a BRG myself and was considering stipes, but black is way too dark as the BRG is very dark too... Worth considering if you take aftermarket stripes is silver color maybe, as this will enhance the chrome bits on the cooper too and will be much lighter and contrast well with the body colour...
