Where can I get historic decals for the sides??/

I want to put something (with taste) on the sides of the car. I would like something historic (although I have a new mini). You know, something that reflects the mini's racing heritage. Any suggestions? OH, I live in the US if that helps.

Black Cooper

Have a look at the owners gallaries on this site for MINIMEAT and he has put soem John Cooper sigs on the side of his car. You can get the originals from www.johncooperworks.co.uk at about £9 each or I saw some on eBay for about £4 a pair.

I have also seen people use the old John Cooper stickers from the classic mini and someone else had a check flag that matched the roof graphics.

Hope this helps

regards, Paul

Black Cooper

What about the fantastic 1275GT mini with the decals on the bottom of the doors???

My first car was a GT and had the gold decals on metalic blue (and brown due to rust) - nice!!! It also had a blue vinyl roof - well it was built in 1979....

Oh sorry... the Mini Clubman had "Clubman" decals for one year of production; but they were so unpopular that they were discontinued almost as soon as they were introduced.

So, max says forget originality just go for the "f-l-a-m-i-n-g wheels" decals in red and yellow

Since I have a new mini, I am not trying to recreate an old one. Rather, I want something that reflects its racing heritage. And I want something "tasteful." Flames might not meet that description for me There are some plates from the Rallies in the 60's that I might make into decals... Check out the attached file for some examples of what I looking for here....

I would........

go to a Barnes and Noble or some other high class bookstore and get a copy of the mag "MINI WORLD"....... there are tons of ads for UK , mostly, suppliers of stuff for Minis,(classic minis) including decals.....some URLs:
www.theminishoplondon.com
minispares.com
www.avonbar.com
and, natch, the folks in the grand ole US of A :

www.minimania.com
www.minicityltd.com (I think, maybe somewhat different - try a search if so)
www.7ent.com

Good luck - there is a nice assortment of stuff out there, including the old BMC racing rosette, used to be on the fenders of the 60s Monte cars, the Cooper wreath thingy that is on the side of some later model Minis, and other stuff, too!

Pbraun:'

Thanks for the posts. I live in the US, but decals are not that hard to make and ship. Thanks. I want to move slowly here. Some will think I look like a goof but most will think it's neat.... I think. I've attached a file showing some of the stuff I found...

The Monte Carlo decals look cool. Where are you thinking of placing it? I've been thinking about a decal, too. BTW, CooperFlags quoted me $350 for the perferated sunroof decal (checkerboard). I think that's far too much.

A while back my better half and I were also thinking of making one of those monte carlo ralley stickers (which you've also found) into bonnet/side door stickers. Maybe if you are really going to get them custom made, we should do it together (or gather more people) and hopefully get a cheaper price for it. Let me know if you are. Thanks.

Hi DeniseK, Cooper Flags here, I'm not sure where you got $350 for a sunroof cover, but ours are only $140.
