Offline | I don't see a problem in putting the John Cooper sigs on the car. John Cooper did help with the development of the car. I mean it IS a MINI "COOPER". Okay maybe not a works but its still called a Cooper, and that did come from John Cooper! What annoys me when it comes to badging is people making out there car is something it isn't. In fact its not so much that, but the people who make a half hash job of making there car look like something its not, when it so obviously isn't! If someone goes to the effort, of buying S side skirts, bumpers, bonnet, spoiler, exhaust and indicator vents, (did I miss anything from the exterior), to make it look like an S. THEN stick an S after the Cooper on their car. Then fair enough. (although it would probably be cheaper to buy an S and Insure it than do that). Its people who just stick the S on the back. I've lost count of the M3's in Manchester that drive around with hubcaps, orange indicators and black plastic bumpers! Do your car up THEN stick the badge on! Okay I have a badge from an MG on my car, and I've been known to slate people who have put an "///M" badge on there car. But the badge I put on is just a Union Jack flag that 90% population will think nothing of. the "///M" badge is mch more recognised. Maybe I'm wrong, but thats just my opinion. BUT... ...if you want to put a Ferrari badge on your MINI then go ahead! I personally wouldn't buy a MINI with a Black roof, but then again everyone is allowed to do what they like to make their car unique, so if you want to put a badge on your car, DO IT. If you like it, KEEP IT! If other people think your a t****r for doing it, S***w them! ![]() (i.e. the person with an M badge on his MINI One in Manchester, just ignore me, my opinion doesn't count as you never asked for it )![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Hey, each to their own, but what car worth it's salt isn't 16v these days? I remember when a 16v badge on a car really meant something, I'm thinking back to 1992 when I worked for a Vauxhall dealers when we all got excited when we saw an Astra or Cavalier GSi or a 16v Calibra. In those days 16v was a rare beast and it really was unusual, but now cars are nearly all 16v (or 4 valves per cylinder) apart from the real base model tat from cheap manufacturers. IMHO a 16v badge is totally useless these days. It's not a boast like it once was, |

Offline | Jimmy - it's a Whalen. I was suprised the MD guys hadn't heard of it when I mentioned it to them the other day! www.whalenshiftmachine.com. Lots of guys have them on here - you can get custom engravings etc., and everyone who has one seems to rave about it! Not only does it look great, but it changes the shift feel for the better as well (with it being so heavy etc.)! Get one, Doug ships to the UK for just $5!! ![]() |

Offline | my personal opinion, no i dont like the 16v badge, it makes me think of gold saxos with body kits and lowered suspension. little boys with baseball caps on back to front, over revving at traffic lights. its something i personally i dont want to associate with the MINI. but its your choice, your car, put what you like on it. |
