You cannot change the Xenon bulb, the main beam and dip are the same bulb with a 'defelector' device that shades the beam when on dip. When you want main beam the shade flips outta the way. Xenon lamps are designed to last the life of the car, so there is'nt an alternative.

You talking about the "high beam" as in the one you use at night on country lanes? Not the "normal" high beam as in not sidelight?

They are seperate bulbs.
The 'xenon' one is for dip beam
top part of headlamp
the main or full beam is in the lower part of the headlight (circular section)
It is a H7 bulb - I replaced my ones with Lucas 100w versions - had them a year now, much better and no problems

Mikey, I imagine 100w bulbs would be much better.

I'm running on Osram Silverstars rated at 55w - are the 100w Lucas' readily available and are there any electrical system implications by using them?

I've never been impressed by the OE, and the Silverstars don't improve matters that much either, would I be right in thinking that 100w's would nearly double brightness?

Thanks in advance for your advice.
