United-States Should I get a Clear Bra or not.

Just got my Cooper S last week and I asked my dealer if they would recommend on installing the clear bra. My dealer did not recommend the installation of the clear bra. They felt the quality of the product was not up to par. For those of you that had it installed or thinking about getting it done what are your thoughts on the bra. I was quoted $500 for the installation of the full kit. Please post your experience with the product. Possible problems: if the bra was taken off a few years later, there would be a difference in paint color and you would get rock chips on top of the hood where there are the clear bra does not protect. Should I just forget the bra and not worry about the rock chips. I guess its just the new car thing. Lastly, as a minimum should I just get the headlights and fog light clear protection.

My opinion is just protect the lights, forget the rest, over time the clear bra looks like crap IMO

If you go to the general discussion pages and there is a thread called
"Protection from stone chips" that has some impressive photos.

I've had the clear bra for a few years now and like it very much. No problems with peeling or anything else. I also had the same stuff applied to the lights and grill. Thus far, no problems there either. I live on a gravel road. I have stone chips -- right above where the bra stops, of course. My advice is get it. It's saved me, I'm sure. No provlems with sun and cold, either.
It's a 3M product. I shopped around for the best price and ended up at a tint shop that used 3M for the windows, too. Since I live in a major sunny area, I got the windows tinted at the same time. Ask them for a package deal and save some money.

Thanks for everyone's reply. I'll shop around and get several quotes. Or once the new car sydrome goes away I may just forget about it.
