Chrome boot handle

I've got a Mini One and most of you are probably aware that the one comes with black boot handles. I would really like to get the chrome handles, like the ones on the cooper, so if anyone has had them added to their One, how much did it cost?

On the same note, the front grill, not the mesh, is also black. How much would that cost to get it changed to chrome?

Thanks Mini friends

You can replace the boot handle with ease. They are only screwed on (although the may be torx screws, I can't remember and it is too dark outside to be bothered checking ). There are only 3 or 4 screws and one plug for the microswitch, I think that the handle assembly is only something like £35 too. Your front grille is in two sections. The upper section is £45 inc vat and is a simple replacement), the lower section of the grille may be a bit more complicated as it is in the bumper and I am not sure how it fits. This is about £28 inc vat(I think) for the 3 components that make up the lower section ( which are the chrome lower surround and the single chrome bar, and the adhesive fixing strip for the bar)
Have a word with your local dealer who I am sure will sell you the parts without a problem. I have heard of a few people doing this to the MINI One

thanx chip!

Will see my dealer on Friday, will question him about it then. i've got a faulty rear light cluster that needs replaced anyway- letting in water and causing the chrome surrounds inside to bubble and peel off: its only happening to the rear left set of lights, but pretty sure the dealer will replace without to much fuss. Anyone else had this problem? My dealer certainly hasn't heard of this problem occuring with other mini's they've sold!

Your rear light problem is not uncommon but not a major fault. I know of 2 that have been replaced for this reason . I doubt your dealer will even bat an eyelid at this one and will probably just have a lamp in stock ready to swop with your existing one (they should do)

That's neat. I actually want to do this to my Cooper S. I'll certainly keep it as is for a bit, and see if it grows on me, but I really like the chrome on the car.

I changed the black boot handle today to the chromed.

The boot handle is fixed outside with 4 torx-screws, easy to remove. But to disconnect the electrical equipment plug of the boot handle, I had to remove the plastic cover inside the boot( hold by some screws and clips ).

AirCondition, Sport Seats, Alu Patina Dash with Chrome rings
