Headlight bulb upgrades?

I am considering replacing standard (H7?) headlight bulbs with PIAA bulbs that supposedly give increased light whilst still using the same power.
Has anyone out there gone down this route and is it worthwhile?
I have seen the bulbs in the Demon Tweeks catalogue with "white" lights bulbs about £35 per pair and "blue" bulbs for about £65- can you recommend anything better/ cheaper?
The blue ones are tempting as the bulbs are tinted and make the headlights blue even when they are not on.
I did try to find some mention of this subject (honest!) but I could not find anything.

Here's the best thread on light upgrades.

Yes I do have the PIAA leds in aswell....yes the lights do match quite well. The leds do have a slight blueish tint to them but the dipped headlights are too bluey iygwim. I didn't want a blueish look hence I went for the white ones

I couldn't agree more I didn't want the max power blue look, that's why I had to check the code on my leds loads of times to check they were white as they look slighty blueish.
I'd say the lights were a good match but I don't think they are legal....they may be too bright

The picies aren't great.....think I'd ned to play with the camer's settings a bit to do the lights justice.

The firts pic is without the flash and the second is with it. But in the second pic they look kida yellowy which they aren't actually when you look at them

O and I only have them for dipped...I have some lucas uprated bulbs for main but they ARE yellowy

I can see what you mean they look a little yellow but that is prob the angle/position you have taken the picture. You can see the true colour of the leds though as these are not shining directly into the camera lens. Try playing about a bit. Cheers

Thanks for the help- I have just ordered the Osram Silver Star for both dip and full beam- getting the Blue Vision side lights thrown in with the deal as others have- great!

Hope to receive them tomorrow and get them fitted over the weekend.

Can't find them Stateside so I may just order them from Powerbulbs in the UK.

Hope they work out well.

I've got the Philips vison plus bulbs for my full and dipped beam, and the blue vision sidelights. They're brighter, nicer to drive by, and look better because they're a lot "whiter" and look sort of "cleaner".

I got them from www.powerbulbs.co.uk - great service, good price (£55 for all), and the best thing - you get a FREE set of the bluevision sidelights with every order!

Well. I was in the same situation here. I wanted to replace all my bulbs.... so i did.

I replaced the didped andmain beam with Xeneon Xtreme White H7 12v 85w. The bulb is blue and shines a blue / bright white ( brilliant ). bulbs from eBay ( store shop for seller is as follows : http://www.stores.ebay.co.uk/id=9401717&ssPageName=L2

Sidelights with LED White ( Non Legal but who knows ) and they go great with the main lights. Bulbs from www.newministuff.co.uk

Indicator bulbs are rude. Flash amber but look blue / purple / silver bought from www.newministuff.co.uk again.

I hope this helps in some way as i am very pleased with my purchases.
