| ITS RAINNIN' SIDEWAYS | i used to work at a company where we had a chemical plating shop & we used to get all our shiny things nickel plated which was just as shiny as chrome but it wasn't porous & so protected against rust much better. ![]() |

![]() I Just Can't Get Enough | i've had 4 bmw ones fitted to my cars for over 12 months and have had zero problems with rust or light output, they light up the road very well and a huge amount better than the normal main beam. I like the size of them because i feel they are the right size for their location on the car, all my opinion of course. I love them, and had them swapped off my cooper onto my S when i changed a month ago ![]() ![]() |

| nurburgring here we come | hi guys i specialise in chrome plating. any item that has been chrome plated has been nickel plated before chroming. you cant put chrome onto anything other than nickel. And Wobeert chrome on plastic is even worse ,it wont last long and could you imagine the headlamp being made out of plastic ?? |

Offline | But what about the OEM chrome pieces? Almost everything chrome on the MINI (and many other vehicles for that matter) are chromed plastic and seem to stand up *very* well to the elements. FWIW, I have had some plastic interior pieces chromed some time ago, and they're holding up very well. |
