United-States What do you think about this color scheme?

I am going to order an S in 2 months. I am having a really hard time deciding which color combination to buy. The problem is all the S models seem to look really good no matter what color combination they are. But at the same time I haven't seen a color combo that looks any better then the rest. I really hate to go with anything but white top and white wheels 'cause I think it is such a classic Mini look. But, I want something a little different. So what do you think about this combination? A chili red S with black top and black mirrors, the 8 spoke 17" S wheels powder coated or painted black to match the black roof and mirrors, black donnet stripes and a red full roof checker board sticker that will also cover the sun roof. Do you think this would look good? Do you have any other ideas? I haven't posted a pic here yet, so sorry if I don't get it right.

I have a CR/W MC and I personally do not like the black roof and mirrors. However I do agree that there are a lot of CR/W MC's and MCS's, so it might be nice to go with something different. I haven't seen too many CR/B around, so that might be a good choice. I think the black rims would bring the whole color scheme together.

RIP Boo

I love CR/B but then I do not like any white roofs, the sunroof sticks out (which for me is a must have) and with all the black trim a white roof makes the car tri-colored (which IMO I do not like).

Haven't seena black wheel I like tho, black always looks cheap to me, reminds me of the old steel wheels and hubcap days.

The important thing is to choose what you want, no one elses opinion matters if you are happy.

I understand your quandary. I've just ordered my MC (delivery June). I finally settled on chilli red with black roof and I'm now contemplating black bonnet stripes, haven't seen one so thought it might be a bit different. However, I want plain black stripes not those with silver/white outline, so might leave it and have them put on later. There's simply too much choice!!

I've never been a fan of black wheels.. As GMINI03 said, it looks cheap, but also, it makes it appear as if the black is brake dust/dirt. Not a good look IMO. But if that's what floats your boat, go for it.

My friend ordered a CR/B Cooper, and I must say, the CR/W looks a lot sharper. Maybe that's why there are so many of them around!

Well, whatever you choose, make sure it's what you really want. Don't let anyone tell you what you should and should not pick! Good luck.

I really like the CR/B combo. In fact, I think it looks more striking that the CR/W you see so often but that's just my opinion. Something abou red and black. Then again, call me biased but my IB/W "Minster" is still tops in my book. Just picked her up this week and things so far are lookin' good.

Choosing a color combo is a tough one with the Mini because it looks good in all the available colors. I would have been almost as satisfied with BRG/W, BRG/B or CR/B and could live very easily with most of the others. Whatever floats your boat. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

I think the combo you are considering would look sharp -- not necessarily for me, but I would admire it if I saw it on the road.

There are sooo many photos in the galleries of so many combinations. Why not try to put them side-by-side, then take a break, and then come back and see which one (on "first" impression) leaps out at you and makes your heart go flitter/flutter? That's one way to tell which one is right for YOU. Our opinions don't much matter -- unless you want something popular for resale time...

Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06]

Your color combo was my first choice, followed by the DS/B and triple black. Then my 13 year old said that red with a black roof would look like a lady bug and ruined it for me. But I do love red and black cars, so go for it.

when i looked at that picture the first thing i thought of was the cavalier my older bro got as his first car. it had no hub caps and black wheels. it looked cheap then, and, to me, still looks cheap. i think the wheels have to be silver or white. anything else looks like you've had your hub's nicked.

(but then, im only jealous cos im getting a one and not an s.)

here is mine

I did have a black nose on it, but didnt like it..too much black. Agro on the board bought the black nose from me.
I also had the BFP carbon fiber nose on it for a while, didnt like it, didnt go well with the black aero grilles.

I agree with GMINI..white roof does look best but coupled wtih sunroof..makes car tricolor..and IMO looks too busy.

Good luck wtih your choice.

We have the cr/b combo with black/white edge bonnet stripes, and silver wheels. Saw the same combo at a recent meet, but with black wheels. Apologies to the owner, but we thought the black wheels were horrid. Try a search first. You might even find a picture amongst the UK Chilterns meet.

Deffinatly go for the black wheels, but stay with plain black roof, try matt/satin black stripes and if you can afford it have some aero skirts fitted as there is so much black the 's' skirts stand out too much and look naff, dont forget the tints too. You'll have a right sporty little number.
