MINI Driving Lights

Almost finished installing the MINI Driving Lights and need help on one part.....Where is the Body Control Module on the passengers side foot well. If its the little white box, then there is no Green Connector. This is on page 10 of the PDF for installation of the lights. Any ideas?

Also anyone installing read the directions and don't go nuts over them. I still have not found the inertia switch on a 2003 MCS, on page 7. Also the fuse box they supply is not easily used.

Approx. time for install is 5-6 hours on the first one. If I was to do it again probably 3-4 hours. 1 hour was spent figuring out metrics and then finding the conversion chart to go to fractional sizes and measurements.

It's behind the side panel where your bonnet release is.

>>> I still have not found the inertia switch on a 2003 MCS, on page 7<<<
That's because it's not there. It was discontinued in early '03.

>>>the fuse box they supply is not easily used.<<<
it's not too bad. It could have been made a bit more "user friendly" though.

The install time for the first one is a bit over the time stated in the instructions, that's for sure!

and anyone know where you can get some of those fuse box connectors I'd like to use the blank space in the new fuse box for some accessories.

Gene, I post somewhere else and you still find me!!!! Thanks for the tips. I have a couple of those stupid connectors that will fit your little box I will give you. I am going to make my own more than likely. Try removing the pop in section and its not easy and it gets destroyed easily.

Wait till Pincity tries installing his lights...that ought to be good. More than likely I will have him meet me in Maine and he can give his wife his wallet as we install his lights.

Two things I did to ease the job a bit were that I pulled out the glovebox (5 screws) and after I got the panel loose I trimmed the lip back where the hood release comes through. This really helped when I was putting the panel back on.

I also found it easiest to unbolt the BC-1 to facilitate getting to the plugs.

LOL G...I have approx. $20,000 in tools that wasn't the problem....The problem is that MINI doesn't update from year to year, so you spend 1 hour back and forth looking at pics of parts that don't exist, then you second guess yourself. Give me another car and probably within 3 hours I would have it done.

Thanks Moor for teh other ideas. Another one that works well is pulling a separate wire through areas and tying the harness off and pulling through. Saved a lot of time with teh main harness.
