Hi, I'm fed up with with the white wax residue on my black trim - some products are good but it always comes back.

As permanent measure I'm thinking of having the entire black plastic trim painted black. I'm sure it'd look great but I have not seen any examples of it !!. Anyone out there with piccies ?.

erm cannot really comment on it being painted I have yet to see one, although I read on a thread agesss ago that honey or peanut butter - it was something weird mixed with something else brought it out try doing a search im sure its around somewhere.

I'm in the process of having this done.... thing is the shop I picked to have the pieces painted is sooo busy they haven't quite got to me yet. (it's been just over 2 weeks..
but they did a beautiful GTO last week )

I actually ordered an entire new set of black plastic trim (US$540.00 for it all, but that is with S side skirts which were $91.00 each) and dropped it all off at the shop. After the painting is finished they will switch them out with the old trim. I'm hoping this will make for a very high quality job.

I am doing gloss black, which will look awesome with Pure Silver... it is very striking that the entire car inside & out is silver and black, even my checkered top is silver on a black roof.

I'm REALLY looking forward to being able to wax the MINI without always trying to keep polish off of the textured plastic. It seems no matter how hard I try it shows up somewhere!!

Had mine all done a couple of weeks ago,main dealers looking for abour £1500,had mine done for £300,took a week to do ,body shop removed all trim rubbed it flat ,primed ,plastic coated,painted and clear coated, you cant tell it wasn't done in factory,I didnt like the idea of contrasting trim so had mine matched to body work,lots of post and pictures around on this .

Ive taken some pics but cant get them up due to problems with my computer,will try again next week

I am sure I have probably asked you this before but where did you get this done?! Londond area? Also, where did you get the paint?

No problem ,yes in London, at Autohaus Churchfield Rd London W3 6DH tel 0208 992 8895,ask for Kinty and tell him I recommended you to him,.They supplied all the paint,I also had the front and rear mesh in the bumpers painted silver and the bonnet air vents colour coded (all for the £300)

What sort of guarantee do they offer John? Such as, if any stonechips etc....can they respray or would the arch be runied?
