| MINI2 Regular | Yeah what is the deal with original MINI owners anyway? Some of them are a little too full of themselves when they go on about BMW ruining their car...i don't understand how they fail to see that they brought about its revival, and are bringing new people into wanting to know more about the car's history. I simply don't get their beef at all. If it'a a national pride issue, then jeez they must not care that British workers are building this new car 24/7. In short, I don't htink I'll have to worry about it too much. I've never seen an original MINI in southern California, and the only ones I've seen in Northern Califoria were at a shop that specializes in repairing the older ones. I love ALL MINIs. /// The Kurtster /// ![]() UNION JACK OWNERS CLUB GB-0032 |

Offline | Kurster Nice car. I like the badges, and your plate is very nice! However I do not like the chrome wipers, loooks a bit too rice for me. You seem to be a bit too chromed out for my tastes, then again your car your choice. I do like chrome as I chromed my tach, speedo and shifter, but not sure aobut so much exterior chrome as you have gone. |

| MINI2 Regular | When I think rice, I think painted black grills, aftermarket body kits, carbon fiber and painting parts to match body color. I think cars of yesteryear were loaded with chrome, wipers being very common. /// The Kurtster /// ![]() UNION JACK OWNERS CLUB GB-0032 |

Offline | Did not mean to offend you at all. Thus I said everybody has their own tastes. I agree on most of your comments, except for carbon fiber. If CF is good enough for Ferrari, to me that would not be considered rice. |

| MINI2 Regular | No worries... No worries. I wans't at all offended. I was just explaining my perceptions and why I chose the route I have. It's all good, bro. The wiper arms were $120/ for both to get chromed. The blades were a pain. I bought an extra set of factory ones and you're right...they won't touch 'em because they're plastic AND metal and can't be dissasembled. (If anyone wants to buy a set of factory blades I'll be happy to sell them to you) So I started searching for pre-fabed blades and all I could find online were stainless steel, or big fat double-wide ones that clearly looked aftermarket (and goofy IMO). It turns out that a US car accessories store called Pep Boys sells single width aftermarket chrome wipers and I think they cost me around $12 ea. Someone asked about removing the original "COOPER" lettering and FYI each leter is individually double side taped to the paint using the same sticky stuff they use under the fron grill. I used a tiny piece of plastic from a retail store product to wedged between the letters and paint. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that it was scratching the paint a bit so if you do it, please use something VERY soft but firm enough to push sitcky tape apart. /// The Kurtster /// ![]() UNION JACK OWNERS CLUB GB-0032 |

I color matched my dash panels to my exterior BRG/White. I have almost every chrome bit on the market place. Same goes for exterior. I think the wipers are awesome....GREAT JOB !!!! Offline | FYI for badge removal: heat up badge with blow dryer, then use dental floss to separate the badge adhesive from the car. Clean removal, and no scratches. Use your favorite adhesive remover to take care of any left behind. |
