Angry Would this be OK with you Gennex body kit

Gennex body kit from China. Also Mini Pilo sells this kit.

Mini Pilo Kit

Found that the passenger front side is over 3/4- 1 inch wider than the left front.

Would you accept this?

My problem with this is that the car is no longer square. The Wheel on the driver side will stick inward over 1 inch compaired to the passenger side.

The front bumper cover will also look funny. Is this just me cause the manufacture states that not a sole has complained.

I am sure that you paid good money for the kit, and that doesn't seem right. Are they saying all of them are that way? If so, why is it designed that way? Seems shoddy to me.

They sent replacment parts as I thought they had a cooper and cooper S kit and they just got them mixed up. They sent the same exact parts. It seems that this kit was hand developed. I have sent them pictures and initially they said it would be fixed. Now they say that it would cost them too much money to redo thier molds. There other reasoning for not fixing the issue is that other customers dont complain. This morning I received an e-mail from Winson at Gennex (somone else I have not talked to about this issue). He thought I was talking about a Gap issue.

They are located in China and I cant really tell if there is a language barrier, communication problem or what. Pictures should speak any language. I cant believe anyone would overlook this issue when installing the kit.

I had several quotes from installers who told me if the kit was perfect it would cost close to 2k to install and paint it. I am not willing to spend 2k to install a poor quality kit like this currently is.

I hope that this thread will show Gennex that they can expect customers to notice this issue.

That is pretty sad Brian.
I think that mold excuse is doo doo.
You only have to mill the short one to meet the spec of the long one. Take the dimension of one, reverse it and plug it into your CAD system. The damn things are symmetrical aren't they?

Yes easier said than done. They even first agreed to fix the issue but then changed their minds.

I hope Pilo will also voice his opinion to the manufacture. By thier reaction I doubt that they are that hi-tech. It seems the molds are made of gold or something.

Hey Guys.

I have sold a couple of these with out complaints. I have a kit sitting here, and will dig it out, and see if the issue exists on it as well. I will let you know what I find. I will keep you all updated. If I find the issue, I will try to talk to Gennex.

Thanks
Dan

Hey guys.

I opened up the box today, and did find about 1/2 inch diffrence. that is on the bottom, and about a 1/4 to 1/8th diffrence on the top of the front piece that attaches to the bumper. I also found that every thing else lines up perfectly. I don't think that it would look bad in the wheel gap area, as those pieces are correct.

This is what I see and think.

Thanks
Dan

So how does this look installed? Can you tell? Are there spaces between the body and the new fender pieces or does everything install nice and tight, you would just need a tape measure to see the difference? You think the company will fix this? Seems pretty odd to me.

Posting again here same from NAM so you folks can see this:

Pilo,

Yes the sides line up fine but if you look directly at the car's nose with this kit installed it doesnt look right.

The ENTIRE passenger front from the bumper piece to the end of the front tire well is wider from 1/4- over 1 inches as the arc gets wider.

Actually they are not correct Dan. Take a look at the measurements and my pictures again. They are not even close to being the same. Both sides should be a mirror image of the other side. By your commiments here does this mean you will continue to sell this kit in its current form? Mine went back to China with a big note that said " Quality control and attantion to detail is what you expect in our performance parts and we expect nothing less in body kits".

Also just because you have not gotten complaints about this doesnt make it right.

You can't trust that made in china stuff. Lesson learned. But I hope that these kits are not sold without telling the customer of the different size.
