Offline | Hi everyone, I thought it'd be a great idea to get the spider web decal fitted to my new MCS, it's all gone wrong I took it to the fitters that the local Mini dealer goes to, and the 1st decal got stuck to itself - so no decal for me. The 2nd web decal was ordered and the fitter couldn't fit it properly he said that it was a very difficult design, so now I have a decal in place with a tear, bubbles and a crease at the front!!!! plus a scratch to the roof paintwork, my MCS is only a week old too ![]() I'll be taking some pictures over the weekend, looks ok from the distance but not good close-up, I'm so disappointed, the fitter said that I could have any other design free-of charge, I would like the checkerboards but I'm a bit wary about the whole thing now. I hope to remove the web soon, it's is quite a rough design not cut as well as the roof decal brochure suggests!!!! Has anyone else had trouble with the web decal or other designs??? |

Offline | sorry to her that There are other places to get good quality decals. I'd suggest getting a refund from your fitter. There's a company called Action Graphics that I've heard and seen very good results from. Do a search in the gallery for "Mad Brummie"'s car and "Rakey"'s car. Both are absolutley amazing custom designs ![]() I'll see if I can find a link to their pictures for you ![]() |

Offline | The chequers are quite easy to apply, just a little massaging needed at the corners. For another vendor try idlegear.co.uk I've had some great dealings with them. The key to applying decals is lots of mild soapy water. That will keep the decal from sticking to itself, and will allow you to slip and slide it on the paint. Allows more "working" time also, letting you take your time to get it right. |
