So what u going to do GJR? keep them or sell via e-bay as he said...? Its really not that much worse than Stock in daylight. |

Offline | I guess I'll keep them. The guy is really unbelievable in the way he treats customers, especially after I purchased four bulbs for almost $50 total (I ordered them 6 days ago and received them four days later). On his home page, he goes on and on about customer service, and then he stabs you in the back after you give him the money. Oh well, that's life...anyway, EBMCS03, thanks again for the help, and I enjoyed your gallery images too. I love the ones with the billboard in the background! |

Offline | thanks for all the posts. i guess i will stay with stocks since i don't drive at night much to appreciate the fast response of leds. if someone reared end me in the daytime with my stock bulbs, i still have some recourse with the manufacture. with leds, i am might be out of luck... |

Offline | Frodo put blue LEDs in for his running lights in the front and one of them would not stop blinking. We called it his disco light. It burned out now, so he only has one blue light in the front. I'd be lost if I had somewhere to be! |

Offline | I got 2 red LED brake bulbs from www.myroadster.net, put them on, and saw the same problem. It works fine but when the engine is off or if the lights are off, I can still see a very dim light coming out from those LEDs. It will not go away. Tried both of them, got the same result. Not sure what to do with them, so I just put the regular bulbs back, did not want to drain the battery with the LEDs as I don't drive the car everyday For those that have the LED but are not getting the same problem, where did you get them? ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | I emailed Jerry Jones (from myroadster.net) about the wide angle LEDs and I did mention that someone from mini2.com purchased the LEDs from him. In the reply, he mentioned he received a complain from the buyer the LEDs stays on even when the engine is off. He suggested to buy the load equalizers together with the LEDs. What I'd like to know is, is it difficult to install load equalizers? Do I need to cut cables? |

Offline | I tried putting the LED bulbs on again last night, and this time I put them on both sides instead of just 1 side....same results. From what stellardude said, it seems that the problem is not with the LED bulbs as he had tried different ones from a few sources. Now I wondered if the other people with a successful switch to LED for brake lights, if they have used load equalizers? From what I read and told, load equalizer is neeeded pretty much for blinkers or cars with "lights out" only. Don't really want to go that route to get the load equalizers if others did the LED switch without them. Yeah, I also wonder if the wires need to be cut in order to install the load equalizers? |

| M5 Extraordinare! | aside from the person who bought them and they still stied on when the car is off... atomic80 and I both also bought the LED brake lights from myroadster.net and they work fine... no equalizers just pop them in and thats all. BUT atomic80 and I both bought 4 of them Two Dual intensity and Two Single intensity bulbs for the brake and the rear fogs. dont know if that makes any difference with 2 or 4 LED bulbs... it shouldnt though. |

Offline | EBMCS03, that is a very interesting point. I bought 2 of the dual intensity LEDs for the brake lights only. My Cooper S has the optional rear fog lights. Of course I can get 2 more single intensity LEDs from www.myroadster.net and see if that will fix the problem. Let me also clarify the "LED stays on when engine off" issue. When the key is out or if the key is in with the headlights off, the LEDs gives out a very dim light. On a range of 0 to 10 for the LED light emitted , 0 being off and 10 is when the brake is applied, the dim light that i am talking about is like 1.5 or so. Under daylight it is not very obvious but when it is pitch dark, it is as if i forgot to turn off the headlight and the battery is half dead. |

| M5 Extraordinare! | Hummm I will double check again tonight by taking them out of the lense and just starring at the bulbs. My garage is pitch dark and I always stare at the rear of my car when its open at night and I dont see any light emitting from it. That might be a option to get 2 more LEDs but let me check tonight and see how it is first... I'll take out the Rear Fog bulbs also and just leave the brake lights in and see if anything changes. I dont see why having 2 or 4 bulbs would make any difference I never really looked at the circuit diagram of the lights. Will report back!! ![]() |

Offline | Oh well, I guess it is an issue maybe unique to a few people only. I also tried to put the LED bulb back and then taken out the rear fog light (don't have a LED single intensity bulb to put in), no change, brake bulb still lights up very dim. I will be getting a Volt meter to check out the socket tonight and see if I see any current on the socket itself. Other than that, I am really clueless on what is going on. I guess as a last resort, I can spend another $25 or so to get 2 single intensity LED bulbs to try or some load equilizers. We got out LEDs from www.myroadster.net |
