Offline | The lens on my right front spot was broken during a drive day (flying debris I assume) I naively assumed that the lens could easily be replaced as the front of the driving light "appears" to be held on by a single screw.BMW in their infinite wisdom do NOT stock the lens as a replacement part!!! You have to replace the entire spot light as a part (at least in Australia) ... I have brought the part (dealership kindly sold it me at cost for ONLY AUS$222 ) but now I'm trying to work out how the damn thing comes apart.Removing the single screw at the bottom front of the spot light is easy. However I am not sure how to then detach the lens and chrome surround. I would have thought it would either twist or just pop off. The broken spot on the car will turn a limited amount but the new one will not budge!!! I am not keen to apply large amounts of pressue for fear of damaging the part (everything is chrome plated). Does anyone know how to disassemble the lens from the light with the least amount of pain??? I know it comes apart as it is the only way to replace the bulb (which thankfully is sold as a separate part) Any help or instructions would be greatly appreciated |

Offline | Once you've removed the screw at the bottom, you pull the chrome bezel out at the bottom and pivot it upward. The bezel is hinged at the top. The glass is held in by three butterfly spring clips on the back that hook under the rim of the bezel. I use a pair of needlenose pliers to bend one leg of the clip to remove it. ![]() |

Offline | Very funny unfortunately the hole in my wallet removes a bit of the levity wmd was on the money Came off after a bit of prying, can't say I'm overly impressed with the design. The lens is part of the light assembly so you need to dis-assemble the entire light to replace the bulb ... lots of dollars for what seemed a simple little problem ![]() |

Offline | Has anyone found a source for just the glass lens? I'd rather not buy the whole assembly from our local dealer (although they'd love to sell it to me). ![]() '03 Cooper S, Red/White, Sport, cracked Rally Lights, HK Sound, John Cooper Works Cat-back!
