Question Will someone measure the bar dimensions of the factory roof rack?

Can anyone please reply with the width and height of the bars? Are the bars the same dimensions as Thule bars? They look like they might be but I can't seem to find any specs on the bmw bars online. Thule bars are 1.3" x 0.96" (US inches)

Thanks,

Erik

Mine are at home, 50 miles away. If there are no other replies I'll do it later? 'bout 6 hours or so from now......

Looks like two and three eighths by one and three eighths. I've got Thules on my other car, the MINI bars are quite a bit larger.

I've heard of people using Thule accessories on the MINI bars, but modifications were needed.

Thanks. I'll head over to my rack supplier and see what they can do.

Cheers,

I neglected to mention that the Thule bars are pure rectangle, while the MINI bars are ovoid with flat surfaces.

Best if you saw one yourself up close.
