Offline | I put MINI bonnet stripes on my MCS on Sunday...spent hours lining them up...smoothing out the water etc...left the car looking perfect - not a bubble or bulge in sight. By Monday morning there were LOADS of bubbles - tiny, but looking like my MINI's stripes have a serious skin complaint, lol. Looks like they're going to have to come off. Does anybody have any idea where I may have gone wrong? Just may save us making the same mistake twice. Thanks for your help, Tinkerbell ![]() |

Offline | Hi Hat, I'd be inclined to think the same thing if I hadn't really cleaned the car first...particularly the bonnet...there are so many bubbles - couldn't possibly begin to count them! ![]() |

Offline | Yep...they are straight from the dealership - best part of £60! I could talk to the dealer, but guess they'll say we must have fitted them wrongly. Just wondered if anyone had seen anything like it before. |

Offline | Leave them in the sun for a few days and the trapped water will evaporate. If not use a SMALL pin and pop any remaning bubbles and smooth out wrinkes with a plastic squeege. matt@cooperflags.com |

Offline | Use a heat gun - carefully. The extra heat smoothes out bubbles and wrinkles wonderfully. (A heat gun works like a hair dryer, only hotter. Also helpful for shrink-tubing on wiring. But be careful. It is possible to melt the vinyl). |
