Reverse Bleeper Bulb - Another winner from MikeytheMini

Havng read the thread the other day about somebody getting a thump on their body work whilst reversing in a car park, and then noticing a reversing/bleeper bulb on www.newministuff.co.uk I thought I'd give it a whirl. Well, I have to say for £11.75 and a small amount of effort involved, it's well worth it. The only real modification I had to make was in the bulb holder it'self, which has three bits of plastic that stand proud of the rest of the holder, that needed sanding down to allow the new bulb to fully push home.

I also purchased the security LED's from him, but I'm not sure about fitting those myself now, I might save up and and have them fitted by him when I can afford those wonderful electric folding mirrors he's done, so cool.

We're not worthy....We're not worthy.

I sincerely hope these never catch on with the general public. A parking lot at a major store would sound like a construction site. How obnoxious that would be. While I can see the use of beepers on larger vehicles that have poor rear vision, putting one on a passenger car seems ludicrous. It seems to me that situational awareness and the use of common sense while reversing would get you by in almost all cases.

The problem with the mini though is pedestrians cannot see the low mounted reverse light on the Mini, so the bleeper will alert them, alternatively you can make the top top bulbs in the clear rear lights into reverse lights for better visibility
Glad you like it red dwarf

..and if it sounded like the ones you get on lorries, then I would agree, thankfully it's far more restrained than that. Enough to be effective, but not annoying.
