Are you trying to remove the whole light assembly or just the bulbs?

I removed my lights yesterday to replace them with clear ones. All you have to do to remove the lights is to open the little panels on the inside of the boot, next undo the bolts inside (1 on each side) and then simply pull the light out, this is best done by pushing it from inside. This can sometimes be a bit tricky as the bolt can get stuck so use a bit of force. Finally unplug the lead and reverse the process to put them bacl in.
If you want to remove the bulb circuit board thing however all you have to do is to push the plastic tab in the middle back and pull the circuit board out.
I hope this helps,
Dale

Devilsushi2000 is right. Remove the bolt on each side and unclip the tabs on the side of the housing. The unit should slide out. If you want to remove the third brake light, just unscrew the three screws on the underside of the hatch. Good luck!

They're Torx screws, I can't remember the exact size, T-20 comes to mind though. You just need to find a torx screwdriver or a Torx bit for a screwdriver that takes the little insert bits.

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Here's threads I found searching for brake light spoiler. (Its not really a wing, and MINI calls them spoilers).
