My IB/IB MCS Works is 6 weeks old now, absolutely fabulous and very discreet, but I am beginning to feel MINIs really need a contrasting roof (nothing against Ones).

I didn't go for white roof as I really fancied the chrome mirrors and wasn't sure they went well with white.

Have hit on the idea of a Pure Silver roof on the Indi Blue S and got a quote from the dealer of £350 + VAT, but can't really decide if this is a good idea or how it would really look in the flesh. Any ideas??? Anybody done this sort of non-standard roof colour (not decals) thing before, apart from Apple's green roof?

I think your car would look better with silver bonnet stripes and a silver chequers
on the roof. At least that way if you don't like it you can take the decals off later.

In this picture we transformed a PW/PW into a PW/EB. We could do the same for you only helping you create a IB/PS or IB/DS.

Totally agree with the contrasting roof. We dont get ONE's in Oz, so I cant comment on that

I reckon it sound's good, makes it a bit different. I have an I/B MINI Cooper with silver bonnet stripes and silver union jack, the silver/indi blue works well. Take the plunge!

We've discussed a silver roof (not pure silver though, something a bit more "silver", bit more solid) for our IB/IB S quite a few times before, they did this with the Tahiti Blue (Metallic) classic Minis towards the end of production and it looked very cool.

I bet a chrome square checkerboard with an indi blue background would be a one of a kind, If you are going to do it yourself, you could get e chrome 3M adhesive squares for a great price, and work great with the mirror caps. that would be too cool....

Be careful with the chrome material - (1) it's hard to apply (2) Most "chrome" is not for auto applications (3) expensive (4) does not have a long life span.

I was wondering if it (chrome stickers) could be made to lie flat, especially in the curved corners, but you got to admit it would look cool though....

...I was told it was done to some "special edition" Classic S's.

Was thinking of something similar myself, I think that price is a bargain!

I was looking at having my bonnet stripes silver and a decal roof making it silver.

from just applying it. I was going to order an Indi blue with blue roof and go with chrome bonnet strippes and chrome checkers with chrome mirror caps. I wanted something really different. Buit, I have seen some chrome graphics on other cars and they all have scratches on them from application and they don't last very long, so I dropped the idea.
Now i am getting a chili red '05 MCS with black roof, chili red checkers on the roof, black bonnet strippes and black Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 17" wheels.

Glad to have some positive views - now I just need to find the courage to do it. (Definitely silver paint all over the roof though, not decals)

Maybe if the roof looks good follow up with silver GT2 bonnet stripes?? but only if they were a good colour match for pure silver
