Question Shadow Vipers for Silver MCS

Sorry to have to start a new thread for this but I have searched the forums with no luck.

Does anybody have a pure Silver MCS with frosted clear crystall (shadow) Viper stripes on the bonnet? I am thinking of getting this and would like to see what it looks like first. Any pics on silver car would be brilliant. (I know Doc_Croc has pics of blue MCS)

Thanks

Check out my reply to the shadow striping...

Basically 3M 7725-324 frosted cystal is a permanent film, is non removable without a razor blade and will damage your paintwork.

It is designed for glass only, I would suggest using a metallic dark silver instead as in Avery XL 20504 or Avery 992QM

Both are 12 year films, use a non aggresive adhesive and are a metallic conformable film.

DO NOT use the frosted crystal...!

ok. cheers for letting me know. Does the metallic dark silver one look similar to the frosted film or is more like the dark silver paint on the S?

It is almost the same as the dark silver of the S, you have the option of having a layer of the etched applied over the top of the orcinary silver though... A decent supplier would be able to do this before application...
It would be 100microns thick instead of 50, but you would be the only one who would know...
There is a list of Scotchcal suppliers in the UK who I can put you in touch with...

They look very nice indeed.

Did you use the 3M material or the other?

Just for info, when I wax my car, I try not to get the wax on the stripes. Having said this, when I've caught the edges of the stripes with wax, it does come off easily enough.

I took your advice and told them not to use a permanet film. I dont think it is the 3M one allthough the film is used mainly on glass. With regard the paintwrk if i take them off, im not too worried really. I love the stripes and dont think i will ever want them taken off!!

cheers for the advice Doc_Croc. will have to watch that when i wax the car. guess you should just treat them like the black wheel arches, side skirts etc.

No they dont, they are just on the bonnet. I think the ones that go over the roof and the boot look a bit daft but each to their own

I will vouch for the frost stripes from cooperflags. Love 'em!

Tends to give an understated effect, does not stand out except in a certain lighting condition.

Check my gallery for pics of a pure silver S with frost stripes.

Cheers!
