Offline | Front Driving Lights inplace of Fog lights Hi guys, I am thinking of fitting a set of driving lights in the bottom bumper, like the ss Commodores and XR Falcons. I know they work really well there and was thinking f doing it to mine. Has anyone done this and how much Cheers Brett 1968 Mk1 Morris Cooper S 1310cc Downton Lake Green - White 1974 Leyland Mini 1098c Country Cream 2008 MINI Cooper S Chilli Pepper White - Black Roof |

| MINI2 Master | The lights in the bumper on SS commodes are definitely foglights, and don't actually comply with the ADR's (they don't have the appropriate markings). Holden gets away with it because they are Holden.... Inappropriate use of foglights is one of my pet peeves... |

![]() MCSJCW | I love my foggies, especially when you don't get them when you have a cooper for soooo long. But I agree with you MickyD - I don't like the really bright ones that mazda drivers (for example) use in the middle of the day ! ![]() - Blacky - 2003 MCS JCW Trouble Maker |

Offline | I kind of wondered about putting a relay switch on the fog lights so that when you had high beam on you could put the fogs on too but when you dipped the beam the fogs would turn off. I do a lot of country driving and the more light the better but I don’t want to annoy people by leaving the fogs on (or risk being booked). The only thing is, what would you do when there really was fog (not that we get much). Misuse of fog lights (and high beam) is one of my pet hates too. Especially those tools that drive around at night in perfectly good weather with their rear fog lights on (particularly prevalent among Hyundai and Subaru drivers). Here is a rule of thumb for using high beam - if you can see two distinct head lights (as opposed to just one blob of light) then you dip your beams. This also applies when you are driving behind someone too. Learnt this from my brother who is a truckie. |
