| MINI2 Regular | USA MINI accessory rear spoiler Anybody have the accessory rear spoiler on their Cooper with some good pics to share?? I've got the USA accessories brochure and will probably purchase the spoiler. There is only 1 pic of it in the brochure, but it's not very good. Oddly, it's not part of the aero kit so it is not shown on the Indi Blue Cooper.Thanks. 02 MINI Cooper - Pure Silver/Black Delivered 4/22 - 9,500 miles now!! - Premium package, chrome bumpers, foglights, 16" wheels, leather steering wheel, panther black leather seats, heated seats, accessory rear spoiler 02 Honda S2000 - Spa Yellow 02 Mazda Protege5 (Hers) - Midnight Blue Mica - Delivered 8/30/02!! |

| MINI2 Newbie | I've also thought it odd that the rear spoiler isn't included with the aero kit. Do you happen to know if MINI makes two different rear spoilers? Because to my (possibly quite mistaken) eye, the one that comes standard on the 'S' seems larger and more pronounced than the one they usually show on aero kit-equipped cars in photographs -- or, for that matter, than the one I saw on an Indi Blue Cooper outfitted with the aero kit at the NY Auto Show last week... - Jeff |

Offline | Cooper S Spoiler and Aero Spoiler ARE different! I want the Cooper S spoiler but think I'll have to get the Aero one. I'm still waiting for someone who wants to do a swap for the Chilli Pack spoiler, as I've heard that a lot of S owners to be prefer it. Unfortunatly not heard anythjing of them myself Maybe I should do a pole of what people prefer hmmmmmmm![]() |

Offline | Yes, there are 3 spoilers available: Cooper Cooper S Accessory The spoilers are all different with the Cooper spoiler being the least aggressive looking. Personally, I thought the Cooper (w/Sport Package) spoiler looked great and much better than the Cooper S spoiler until I saw the accessory spoiler WOW , looks even better IMO.08 Smart ForTwo Passion Silver/Black/Red (Going on Ebay!) 07 Honda Accord V6 6-speed Taffeta White/Tan (wife's) 06 MINI Cooper S JCW Checkmate Astro Black/Silver ![]() |

Offline | I'd agree with you.........another $200 probably . I asked my dealer to find out how much it'll cost to paint and install as they will have to send it to a local body shop to have it painted.08 Smart ForTwo Passion Silver/Black/Red (Going on Ebay!) 07 Honda Accord V6 6-speed Taffeta White/Tan (wife's) 06 MINI Cooper S JCW Checkmate Astro Black/Silver ![]() |

| MINI2 Senior | Can someone post pictures of the optional Factory spoiler from the Cooper? Please. ![]() Also, does anyone know how each of these spoilers attaches? Are there screws? I'm just wondering if it's possible to remove the "S" spoiler all together without leaving behind evidence that a spoiler was once there. |

Offline | Of the three, which do you think creates the most downforce? Looks aside, The S version looks like it might, what with air directed under to the wing surface. The other two look like they just push the car down by pushing the air up. Does MINI have any performance specs?? |

Offline | I would think the S spoiler would actually create a bit of lift (vs. the others) due to that. Air hits it, some is forced up & over, while some air will be forced under it, & down the back window. In any case, my S spoiler will get replaced with the accessory spoiler, I think it looks much better. Probbably creates a bit more downforce as well. Walker |

Offline | Finally getting my spoiler installed on June 17! My dealer's service dept is booked for the next 2 weeks which is fine because I'm not in a hurry. | MINI2 Regular | The way spoilers can create lift is not only to direct air upward (thus forcing the spoiler downward), but also to produce a lower pressure area above the spoiler than below it. This second method is how planes produce lift with their wings, they have air going under also. Since the pressure is lower above the wing than below, the wing gets "sucked" upward. The bulgy part of the S spoiler is at the bottom, a sort of upside-down wing, thus the "suction" is downward on this one. 2002 Indi Cooper - white roof/rims,prem pkg,DSC,heated sport seats, fog lts. |
