Philips Blue Vision

Hi guys..just wanna let you guys know..I just bought a pair of Philips Blue Vision headlight bulbs
The reason I replaced the bulbs is the factory bulbs are just too dim. I couldnt see anything when driving at night. Anyone had the same problem?

The new bulbs specs are the same as the factory ones..55 watts..but the result is much better, they give more light..I'd say about 3-4 times better than the factory bulbs. The look is also not bad at all..close to factory bulbs only a bit whiter

So if you dont want to spend a fortune for upgrading the bulbs..Blue vision is the way to go

I have had the same headlight bulbs (non Xenon) since October 2001, and I can see just fine..

Maybe they are different over there.. I guess we'll never know!

I too think the MINI headlights are poor.

I replaced the bulbs with Philips ones and thought they only brought a small improvement.

Agree exactly as leon1982 - I thought they factory ones were fine until last winter set upon us - got the Philips blues and wow and behold - I can see!! Not as 'blue' as they were now after 4 - 5 months and also, the beam seems to have changed after the install - seems to be higher (or too high!). But overall great!

The Blue Vision are mostly for looks, although I'm sure they'll offer a small improvement. The better bulbs are Vision Plus. Also, Osram's equivalent (Silver Star I think) has gained much praise recently too.

The Vision Plus and Silver Star claim about a 50% improvement over standard halogens.

That's the ones I bought Paul. Didn't think they made that much difference.

Hopefully the new MINI headlamps will be better.

Yeah I thought the standard MINI bulbs where pants, and I'm with Paul, the Vision Plus were brilliant for the dipped beam.

When i got the new mota I made sure I got Xenons. I then popped the Vision Plus into my main/full beam, and my god, you don't half notice the differance then!

Vision Plus are excellent for Main beam. Looking at spots lext so may upgrade the bulbs in them to!
