Ordered my new Cooper

My problem is that iv never been a huge fan of the chrome grill which is standard on Coopers.

My current MO has a black grill, but is also B/B. Had no probs there.

Question is: What would be the best way to change the grill from chrome to body colour (EB)?

Not sure whether your dealer would do it mine definatley would.

Explain what you want to do and tell him to order you a body coloured grille using a chassis number off an electric blue Cooper S.

I told my dealer I had heard of people (from Mini2) saying how there dealers won't order Cooper S parts for Coopers. He says if they don't order it the customer will go somewhere else, internet etc. so they may as well try to get the sale!

He also went on to explain when 'parts' order the part MINI will sometimes write back asking for proof of the damage on the car the part is supposed to replace, says it sometimes happens the guys in parts have to send digital photos to MINI to prove damage.

I reckon MINI would tend to query a replacment Cooper S bonnet more than a grille which could have got sotne chipped easily.

I am thinking of gettnig my dealer to order Cooper S bonnet and front rear bumper for mine, can't get insurance on a real Cooper S! My dealer agreed to do this so I'm sure some dealer near you will!
