Offline | Front bumper damage : ( Coming home tonight I got into a fender bender (car in front of me inexpicably stopped on an on-ramp as I was looking back to check for traffic, and I hit her rear bumper) in my '04 Cooper. My front bumper and chrome grill (the one beneath the hood) got cracked, (chrome bumper inserts appear to be fine), and it looks like the hood might have gotten tweaked a little bit to the right. The hood shuts tight, but the sensor is telling me it's not latched all the way. I'm definitely going to need a new front bumper, and I'm hoping someone can offer some advice for purchasing one. I've looked online and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Also, if anyone has had any similar damage and can give me an idea of what will need to be done and how much I might expect to pay, I would appreciate it. ** sigh ** What a lousy ending to Memorial Day weekend. ![]() Last edited by jdiver : Jun 1st, 2004 at 07:18 AM. Offline | Well, I talked with my Mini dealer and they said it would be around $1000 for the new bumper, paint, and install. I talked with my local body shop (who I know does excellent work), and they said $600 for everything. Apparently the bumper and chrome insert cost about $220 combined, and the Mini dealer told me they were about $500 combined. $600 for everything is much more palatable, and I know it will be done perfectly. |
