Offline | I think they're just too expensive, its a huge % increase in the cost of the car. Oh, and please don't post the same thread in multiple forums, I've deleted the copy in the S forum. It helps keep everything organized, as per the sticky at the top of each forum. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | i agree after talking to lots of mini dealers and finding about customer interest every dealer said nobody had ordered flip colours because of cost and most people liked python and volcano. I am in the process of ordering python and maybe one of the first customers in the uk to order this colour also these colours will be rare so i probably will get excited if i see another mini with flip colour as well as mine. Offline | I was really tempted by python at the motorshow, then whilst wandering around I saw a range rover with a flip colour similar and it looked really naff over a larger area. You can't really tell just by looking at the wing mirror sampe. |

Offline | Hmm?! Kinda crazy, eh? Ok,I myself like the plain old Mini colours more, especially that new covertible orange. However, if you're more into the modern "Euro" style than the retro they're just the right thing to loose your money. You'll make sure that the new colour will turn more heads than a 'plain black' one. Conclusion: Pricey but sure something Different. I guess we need some pictures.... Offline | Are the flip colors UK only? I showed this thread to a friend who's thinking about getting a MINI and she really likes the Vulcano color (we're both in the US). I meant to ask about it when I was at the dealership Saturday, but...I was kinda preocupied with finally getting my MINI. While I'm not about to change my MINI's color, the flip colors are intriguing. Python and Vulcano are the most popular? I'll deviate from the norm--I like the Kolibr. But I'd have to see the color in person and over a larger area than just a mirror cap to decide whether I really liked it or not. SEVERUS - BRG/B Cooper - MINE as of 6/19/04 |

Offline | If it's a repaint and not from the factory, no wonder it's so expensive. For me, I don't like the look of the flip flops to begin with and the last thing I want is a repainted car. The factory paint is baked and thus better. Most body shops do not remove all the weather strips, door handles etc and I hate the thought of having a car that shows signs of masking off all the trim to paint. It never passes my level of standards. |

Offline | For 3500GBP they should be able to take the entire car apart, paint the body shell, bake it and put it all back together better then it was from the factory. That's $6,412 according to current exchange rates, and its not like they have to worry about stripping the car and excessive prepping, since the underlying paint would be perfect.
