well i ordered the aero side skirts to get painted at the dealership cos the wait time for factory ones was 10 weeks +. I played one dealership off the other and got a price of £430 inc vat, only £30 more than the factory ones. went to pick them up today and there was loads of wee specs of dust in the paint....not huge but significant!

the parts guy was mortified and appologised....but it was my only day off for ages, and i really wanted them. i got such good treatment, he went off and gave the body shop a ing and came back and said i didn't need to pay for the bodyshops poor work so just the cost of the primed sills at £280 inc vat. and on top of that to give them a call when i was next free and they would collect my car (glasgow, and the garage is in hamilton (30 mins drive away!)) get the job done properly and bring my car back....in the mean while i could take the sill and fit them.

now i did fit them and the look great, dont even notice the specs of dust now they are on, but there is one blemish that i do want fixed it looks like a bubble of paint popped and left a wee pock mark.

anywho i recon i got a good deal, and great service form the garage! well done bmw!

well they weren't as easy as i thought, def not like swapping the normal side skirts for the cooper s ones that everyone pointed out to me when i asked how to fit these, there is a adapter type bit in with the aero skirts cos the underside is way shorter than the originals and it needs a extra piece of plastic to allow the screws to match up with the original holes in the car. took about an hour in total, looks amazing in real life, pics don't do it justice at all!

The "blister" of paint is called a "fisheye". They should fix it for sure. Can't see it from here though!

since i have had a failed attempt by my vinyl guy with the viper stripes i got him to make me some checkered bonnet stripes with a black pin stripe.....they are made of black vinyl and the white squares are overlayed ontop to give the effect of the checks...not printed so should last longer and look better...also only cost £20 unlike the bmw ones which are £90!!!! mine also have a black pinstipe to finish them off....will post pix when i apply them.
