Philips BlueVision Sidelight Bulbs

I've just installed Philips SilverVision indicator and BlueVision sidelight bulbs. I won't go into too much detail as I've posted in the "ONE" forum.

The summary is that I like the SilverVision bulbs, but I'm not sure about the BlueVision bulbs. I haven't seen them at night yet, but I'm not sure I like the "blue" look of the bulbs in the day.

I've read basically every thread regarding the BlueVision bulbs, but no one seems to have mentioned their day-time look. What do you all think?

I have the same bulbs, love the indicators! and think the blue bulbs look much better in the dark as they produce light the same colour as heads and fogs (old side bulbs were kinda yellow in comparison), day time look?? not sure about the blue but I figure its hardly noticeable and is worth it for the night-time look.

I completely agree. Last night, I had a look at the bulbs in the dark and the light produced is far whiter. I can live with the day-time "blueness" I think!

Does one have to remove the front bumper to change the front indicator bulbs? You lot piqued my interest and I gandered at my Elysium.

Thank you all in advance, tots.

Nope, no removal of the bumper required. It's extremely simple to do. It takes literally about 5 minutes.

Yeah, the fact that you can see the blue bulb through the lens in daytime annoys me too I must admit.............

I'm glad it's not just me then! The whiter light is what makes me keep them.

Agree with the blue look, depends on the car colour too. Looks more passable on Blue/Black than, for example, Red cars.

This is true. I much prefer the white light they give at night anyway so I can live with the blue bulb.

I can agree with the blueness during the day - but as others have noted its ont that noticeable unless you point it out and they make up for it at night!

I was worried that I'd bought the wrong oners - if they do silvervision indicators then do they do silvervision sidelight bulbs??

Hi Guys,

Can you tell me what site you get these bulbs from? And what bulbs would you recommend for the headlights?

Thanks,
Richard.

Richard,

I got mine from Powerbulbs.com - they can recommend the best bulbs for each application but be careful that you know the fitting you need if there's more than one they offer - I got the wrong fitting for the sidelights and had to send them back (my fault as much as their's)

Go to PowerBulbs.com, click on "indicator styling" and the correct SilverVision bulbs are displayed. Order them, then when you receive your package, you'll find they've given you a free set of W5W BlueVision sidelight bulbs, which are again the correct bulbs.

They don't do SilverVision sidelight bulbs. The aim of the silver coating on the indicator bulbs is to prevent the "fried egg" look when the bulbs are not lit. The aim of the blue coating on the sidelight bulbs is to give the light a more white look when lit.

Thanks Sebby,

I have the MINI indicator bulbs (not sure whether they're actually Phillips?) which removes the fried egg effect but wondered if there were bulbs that gave the white light but weren't blue - thats that answered! Oh well I'll have to avoid looking at the sidelights then during the day!
