Exhaust pipe

Hi,

Maybe a sily question, but I've noticed that the flashy chrome end of the exhaust pipe (tail pipe) gets very dirty over time. Does any of you have an explanation for this? Any solutions as to prevent this from happening?
Thanks,
Rogier

The driving is great fun, even in the traffic jam

The MINI runs rich.. the Black dirt is just the unspent fuel aka carbon build up.

Sorry no Solutions for the stock system at this time.

No sure how you can prevent it, but you can use AutoSol to remove it. Works a treat too

There is no real way of preventing it i'm afriad. Just service your car loads! This will hopefully prevent your car from runnning rich!! But you will always get it.

Bit of a good clean every now and then on tip
does make it look better, use a brillo pad (not too agressively)
with warm water, around the edge to get shine back.

England t cut

use t cut on the chrome exhaust trim because it is slightly abrasive and will fetch the dirt out really easy and also leave a high shine, useing a brillo pad is not recomended as it will make more surface scratches in the metal and the dirt will then stick to it more easily. and be harder and harder to get off each time you clean it.
