Question front fogs

hello all,

was wondering if anyone has aimed the front fog lights any higher or if there is a way of doing this as mine are factory aimed right at the ground in front of the car. i'm used to them shining down the road ahead of the car a ways. any help will be appreciated and could you include a step by step. looked in the faq and seen nothing on this.

thanks

This is where fog lights are supposed to be aimed! The whole point is to avoid the reflected light from fog that you get from normal headlights. It sounds like you need spotlights/driving lights which are a different thing altogether. The fogs will make poor spotlights as they are mounted so low down.

with reference to the spot lights,i enquired the other day about having some on my new 05 september delivery ONE.The guy at MINI said that it costs about £330 to have them fitted. Is this correct? It seems alot of money for two small lights.

The front driving/fog lights should be quite low but can be ajusted if too low or too high, theres a small allen key screw that can be turned under the bonnet by the side light bulbs but is made of plastic so it may round off - best to leave it to BM....

The front spot lamps are about £150 just to buy, but then need fitting! originally BM where asking about £500 per set including the fitting but since most people where putting the option off, they reduced it to around the £350 mark - i paid £300 for mine at the dealers!

Recently, BM also announced that they will no longer fit 4 spot lamps as it was restricting air flow to the radiator and any car fitted with 4 that was NOT done by the dealers will loose that all important warranty!

hope that helps....

i just didn't expect them to shine down right in front of the front grille! so i may just leave them alone,,,

as to pricing those numbers just may be correct, i'd shop around as mine were already installed as i took a showroom car so i wouldn't have to wait and order a mini. you may get a better price from a different dealer.....

appreciate you letting me know where the allen screw is if i ever want to change the aim. i'm used to piaa driving lights on my show truck and i guess these are different so i'll leave them alone...

thank you all for responding as this was my first posting. had my mini a week now and cannot stay out of it. went and had the windows tinted monday and called to find out my wheels will be ready to put on tommorrow
