England My Controversial Magnetic Bonnet Stripes - PICS!!

Right guys as previously posted this is something ive been wanting to do for a while.

I finally ordered these from E-Bya (email to:- misschicadee@mac.com) as you can see they are white but i opted for no fine line detail just all white - there are loads of options so email her for your style!

Controversial? Why? Well as you can see I have an all black MCS and most generally think white stripes look daft without white wingies or roof - well my comments to that were - "kcuf that I think they look cool!"

And as you can see they look well smart!

I still am not aware of any mini let alone MCS that have a body roof and wing mirrors with white stripes>> I have only seen one on here and that was an indi blue MCS from the US (i think).

Anyhow here are my pics so enjoy - may even get them permanent as not sure whether its gonna be a long relationship - beware those who follow!!

Better Pics will follow when i have my digi cam as this is digi vid cam

Very nice! Told you they were worth the wait! I think I am also going to get permanent ones, I took it to my dealer today to get the 'clunk' in the steering wheel fixed and without my boot stripes and bonnet stripes my car looked naked. And not in a good way............(first time I thought I would say that!)

I think stripes make the car look great, matching roof or not!
How do the mag stripes hold up at high speeds?

scratches?

Hey Scooby, do you have (or have you heard of) problems of scratching with magnetic stripes? I've heard that the even the tiniest particles have a propensity to induce swirls on your paint's finish. Are there any other inherent disadvantages to having magnetic stripes (versus vinyl stripes)?

I have tested them to three figures a number of times, they are fine! As to dust and scratches, I always generally put them on when the car is clean anyway but they do not incur scratches. The only thing to be aware of is that the magnets tend to stick slighly to the paint if you leave them on for say a week and this can damage the laquer. Just lift off each end every few days and they should be fine! Had mine on for ages now!

As usual I looked at the pics first and thought nice car shame about the camera.
Then I saw the above text which explains why.
Nothing controversial about the stripes they look good and IMHO look more
distinctive because of the greater contrast without a white roof .

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

Looks good but to finish it off you need some at the rear.

I too have these from the same seller, my first set flew off at 90mph, the replacements I got sent have had no problems with them.

Like has already been mentioned, make sure you do take them off every few days to allow the paint breath, or you will leave marks over time

Make sure the car and stripes are clean before fitting too.

Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for them? As someone I know is also trying to get them, but the price has gone up a fair amount since I brought mine.

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Getting check roof on my S but can't decide whether to get bonnet stripes as well. Maybe these are the solution!

Cheers.

I have a solid colour (red) MCS on order as well. My wife (she who would like to be obeyed) has told me in no uncertain terms no decals or stripes. I had stripes and such on my 74 Mini and she didn't care for them. So, I am thinking magnetic bonnet stripes for when I am on my own, ie., what She doesn't know, won't hurt ME My only concern is possible scratches to the paint. Mine will be red/red with the aero kit, so it will be red with black accents. I think white bonnet stripes with black pin stripe should look good.

[color=Red]2005 Chilli red/red Cooper S with aero kit and anthracite interior.
