2 thumbs up for Thule MINI fitment kit!!

Had to switch from Thule receiver hitch mounted bike rack that at I had on my 95 Pathfinder and find a solution that'd work with both my wife's Nissan quest (which I've nicknamed "Das Boat" - for the sumbarine movie enthusiast amongst you) as well as for my mini. Already had new load bars for Quest for last ski season and still had short set of load bars from Pathfinder, for which I got new "feet" and fitment kit and, along with new roof mounted velovice bike racks all is rock solid with no vibrations or sound impact up to 75mph on way out to North Fork for a few day's vaca this week.

I think fitment kit from Thule is pretty new as they definatetly didn't have it when I got my MCS last year.

The kid at local bike store Bicycle Planet in Jericho, NY, who hooked me up and helped install rack races a modified VW so, in addition to a $ tip I had him take her for a test drive too - there's nothing like the grin on a motoring enthusiast's face the first time the drive and MCS - particularly a JCW!

For those of you on Long Island - I recommend Bicycle Planet on Jericho Tpke for Bike's and gear... they're expensive but they stand by their product, know their stuff and are always a pleasure to deal with.

Do you have Thule's item number for the kit? Was it the normal $50 or so?

Pictures Mate - I'm about to order a Mont Blanc, but want to see what this looks like first.

Thule Part #s

Below info is from Thuleracks.com - local store prices are usually a few dollars higher (supposedly to account for shipping?))

400XT - Aero Foot Pack (NEED - Unless you've already got a set) $129
LB50 - Load Bars (NEED - UNLESS YOU'VE ALREADY GOT A SET, LIKE i DID) $50
2145 - Fit Kit (NEED - THIS IS THE MINI SPEFIC FIT $50

This setup is rated to 50KG. I''ve got it setup with a set of two Criterium Upright bike racks at $119 @... figured I'd go upright rather than fork mount given limited interior storage space!

Will also fit the 725 - Flat Top 6pr Ski Carrier that I'd picked up for my minivan last year.

I recommend you check out fitment guide on THULERACKS.COM, now that they've got tested/warrantied product and fitment info listed under the MINI brand to see what bits you may be able to reuse. My personal experience with Thule has been great and this rig on my MINI performed superbly with trip this past week. If it stops raining here in NY I'll try to get photo's posted tomorrow or Sunday.
