| Slippery When Wet | I've just ordered the clear tail light kit from the dealer. It should be in sometime soon. I'm still confused about this wiring harness though. The wiring harness is sold for an additional $100... but no one seems to understand the need for it? It seems that if MINI is selling it, then they intend for you to use it. Right now I'm planning on just going without it. I'd like to actually know its purpose though. I looked through the thread R1 suggested but I didn't get a chance to read everything. Does anyone know specifically what the wiring harness is for, is it required, is it a good idea, etc.? thanks! back in action |

Offline | My clear rears -- CLICK TO ENLARGE I installed the red reflectors in the black plastic mesh (MCS). I've been pulled over for another (bogus) violation by a Texas state trooper, and no mention of any problem with these. Clear rears were dealer-installed; reflectors cost $4 each, and were installed in less than 5 minutes. The dealer never even mentioned the need for red reflectors and so made no effort to install them. Just as well for me. ![]() Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06] |

| Slippery When Wet | I'm currently in debate about adding them to my current Cooper. I had them on my first CR/W Cooper, and still have the set leftover.. but I'm not certain how they would look on CR/B. I should, in theory, look for some pictures so I can see how it looks. If I don't put them on, then they'll be going up for sale eventually. back in action |

Offline | yep its a simple in and out to replace the lights - just a bit awkward with the spanner! but its no issue to do yourself! as for the reflectors! i like the ones posted! i got the mini offical ones with the lights as they said i needed em - but they are huge and involve drilling your bumper! so erm "no to that!" the law only states that you need symetrical reflectors at the rear and not reflective tape! so the halfords ones look perfect!! |
