A bit boring?

Originally I wanted an all Black Cooper S, but was told would have to wait etc. by my dealer. So on the spot, over the phone, I went for Chilli Red/White Roof.

I now think this might be a bit boring, so I'm considering either a chequered roof , or, going for Dark Silver (inc roof), Black bonnet stripes and a chequered roof .

Just wondered if anybody has any photos of a Red Cooper with the factory fitted chequered roof .

Cheers .

Ooo, that pic...

Monsta, would you happen to know where I could find a higher resolution version of that chequed, striped, and aerokitted Cooper pic? I'm thinking of blowing it up to poster size!

-Dave

PS. I'd also really like to see a red/black Cooper S with aerokit, lights and strips.

Don't think theres an Aerokit available for the Cooper S, as it's already kinda got one !!. you can buy the bits seperately though, so the Sills would probably bolt on ok.

Having said that I daresay it may not be long before more radical kits become available for the S. The lower Grille on the S is wider than the Cooper for additional cooling, so don't know whether the front Aerokit bumper bar would be recommended or not.

TheAerokit certainly changes the character of the Cooper, especially with the mesh grille. I like it.

Cheers

Got to agree there. I'm hoping that the mesh grill will fit the S as well, it makes it look a lot different from the front. It looks like the grill sizes are the same (although different number of slats) when you compare the noses. Its just whether or not the slighly bulged S nose will allow the mesh grill to be attached correctly!?

Excellent pictures Monsta! nice one!

Hmmm, it's been mentioned a few times. I don't believe it will fit. Like to see someone have a go though. Then we will know for sure.

Cheers

Aerokit for Cooper S

Basil:

Yes, the U.S. accessories brochure lists aerokits for both the Cooper and the Cooper S. Same prices, I believe. It only has pictures of the non-S version of the kit however.

There is a difference between the 'kit', and the stock Cooper S front end. But yes, the S already has some innate 'kit-like' properties. Another person on this forum commented that you might be able to get most of the kit's effect on the S by merely installing the bodycolored side skirts. I agree that that might be an inexpensive option, but I guess it will be hard to decide until we get more info.

Monsta:

Thanks for hunting up that pic for me. It looks like it was scanned from some MINI promotional materials?

Cool. Thanks for that bit of info. I would like to see the Front bumper bar and mesh grille on an S. Guess like most things BMW/MINI, we will just have to be patient!!
