Anyone tried removing stripes/roof graphics?

Just wondering, but has anyone tried removing any stripes/roof graphic or any other stick on decal from their mini?

Tempted for some sort of roof thing and would love to know what happens when you take them off (just in case i don't like it).....

Thanks for any info

The best way to remove any adhesive backed label or sticker is to heat it with a hair dryer.

Just keep moving the hair dryer back and forth so you don't heat just one area.

The older the sticker or label is, the harder it will come off.

I thought the bonnet stripes were magnetic? Or are you just referring to the roof?

The graphics will come off fairly easily if you use the correct materials in the first place.

Just use heat or leave it in the sun, to warm.

There are some really nasty materials out there, so when you have the graphics manufactured, make sure you insist on 3M 180C series. Not only will this fit more easily, but you can remove the graphics in about 20 mins leaving the paintwork as good as new.

This green mini, is wrapped in the 3M material...it takes about 5 hours to wrap completely, and an hour to remove the whole lot...30 mins of that is getting the mirrors and wipers off.

Paint Fade around the Graphics?

I understand that you can remove the stripes with heat, but in regards to the paint being as good as new... Wouldn't there be paint fade from Sun exposure on the areas where the stripes weren't applied??

I had some white bonnet stripes on for about a year before removing them with a hair dryer. They came off fairly easily. My car is black and for some time afterwards I could see faint lines where the stripes once were (where the sun never shined). It's been a year since the stripes came off now and I can't find those same faint lines.
